Custom Commercial Waste Bins and Recycling Bins for the Hong Kong-Zhuhai-Macao Bridge Port

On October 24, 2018, the Hong Kong-Zhuhai-Macao Bridge opened to traffic. At 55 km, it is the longest sea-crossing bridge-tunnel project China has ever built, with a design life of 120 years and an investment of over RMB 100 billion. It cut the trip between Hong Kong, Zhuhai and Macao to about 30 minutes.

MAX Urban Furniture supplied the waste bins and recycling bins for the bridge’s port service area, and we were proud to be there on opening day.

What the Project Needed

A border crossing sees heavy passenger traffic all day, with constant cleaning. The bins had to look good, stay quiet, resist knocks and be quick for cleaning crews to service.

What We Supplied

Indoors: Stainless steel indoor waste bins with an anti-fingerprint finish, seamless welds and rounded edges that are safe in busy halls. Silent sliding doors give staff quick access to the inner bin, and rubber base rings protect the floor and cut noise.

Outdoors: Powder-coated recycling bins for the plazas, with a tilted inner bin that makes emptying fast and easy.
